A few weeks ago, we had a chance to work with a group of fantastic vendors to put together a tabletop for the first open house at Gather in McKinney. Here’s some photos of our creation – a reinterpretation of vintage!
We wanted to use some different elements than you might normally find in a vintage setting, like the tin-roof chargers and the chicken wire screen and floral containers. So we chose a color palette that focused on silver linens and tableware, with touches of bright yellow in the chair cushions and cake decor.
For the floral, we used bright colors and unusual tropical stems, like protea and wild ginger, to mix up the typical wildflower look on a vintage table. The small chicken wire cages and the tall sheet metal vases brought an edge to the decor and added more texture.
The screen behind the cake table was decorated with single stems and hanging candles to give it some dimension. We also had our wedding guests (okay, us) write good wishes and advice for our bride and groom on small cards, and clothes-pinned them to the chicken wire.
We love the silver on silver on silver look of this place setting. We tied the silverware together with some twine and clipped the menu to the napkin using a mini yellow clothespin.
And how cool are these menus?! These are silkscreened onto brushed metal. Talk about a unique element for your guests!
Hope you find our twisted vintage inspiring! We loved working with our vendor team to bring this vision together.
