The Mason Dallas is truly a charming historic find of a wedding venue in Dallas, Texas. It came to our attention when our industry friend, Kyle Hennigan, became the Mason’s Venue Director. Kyle has been a member of the wedding and events industry for years, with an amazing reputation and personality that endears him to anyone he meets. He is so kind and takes such great care of his clients, we can’t help but love him! We asked Kyle to tell us a little bit more about the Mason
Can you tell us about the history of the building?
Constructed in 1920, Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge #705 was designed by prominent Dallas architect Herbert M. Greene and dedicated on April 3, 1920. A hundred and three years later, the building has been thoughtfully reimagined into a special event venue like no other in Dallas. Greene also designed the Arts District Mansion formerly The Belo Mansion, The Dallas Morning News Building and The National Bank of Dallas, now known as The Thompson Hotel at The National.
Inside and out, The Mason Dallas is a manifestation of “Oak Cliff Reimagined.” As much a setting as it is a state of mind, the venue was brought back to life over several years through a uniquely personal perspective. The moment you walk through the detailed entry doors into the Old-World elegance of bespoke furnishings and timeless architectural style or stroll up the stairs to discover the sparkling Empire Chandeliers in the ballroom, you will feel the subtle glamour of The Mason Dallas.
The Mason Dallas was opened in 2020 as a Dallas wedding venue and is owned and managed by Tres L.A. Group whose founder is Alan Dunn, a Dallas native and graduate of the University of North Texas. Dunn’s inspiration for The Mason came from his post-college travel through Europe and Asia, his five years in L.A. as a struggling actor, waiter and bartender, F&B Manager at The Standard Hotel in Hollywood and F&B Director at Hollywood’s iconic Chateau Marmont Hotel before opening Tres L.A., a luxury hotel-caliber service catering company.
Why do you think couples choose your venue?
