When you want dramatic, you go for contrast, and that’s what Jerrika & Taylor did! With mainly white décor contrasting with the gold and black accents, the drama was real and we love it! With their wedding at The Hall on Dragon, an all-white + gold modern wedding venue in the design district of Dallas, Texas, their vision was executed with style and grace. From the white Phalaenopsis orchid bridal bouquet to the custom gold dance floor with monogram, we know you’ll love the details of this modern wedding!
Engagment
To kick it off, you have to start with some of the couple’s daring and sexy engagement photos. Jerrika and Taylor show off their love and their style in these amazing images created and captured by Tony Valadez.
Ceremony
Knowing this, now you can see how they like the drama and how we brought it for them on wedding day. We started simply with a black carpet runner to welcome guests instead of the traditional red. Guests walked down the white corridor and came out in the modern ceremony room with a wall of clear acrylic pillars and vases that showed off the white floral as if it was floating. The black and white runner for the aisle and the gold hanging lights are the perfect accents to the room.
Cocktail Hour
After ceremony, guests were greeted with Taylor’s signature cocktail in the all white and gold cocktail space, which included a fun clear acrylic seating chart to let guests know their assigned tables.
The Reception
We draped the entire reception space to soften the walls and add an ethereal touch to the reception ambiance. Adding uplights around the room so we could change colors with the mood helped keep that modern feel. Of course with the drama of the amazing floral and head table details, the reception felt luxurious and sumptuous. (so was the food!)
Guests found their seats by checking out the fantastic mirror gold table numbers and seeing their name in custom acrylic colors (indicating their choice of meal) set at each place setting. They also received a tasty treat of custom macaroons in the wedding colors and “J&T” imprinted on them.
Once guests were seated, Jerrika & Taylor brought the drama by dancing their first dance while Avery Wilson (from The Voice) performed and seemingly dancing on a cloud on their custom gold dance floor with monogram. We love the romance of the cloud effect!
Dessert was eye-popping as well with such a modern and clean design of white on white. We used our acrylic cake stand (of course) and the white and gold sequin linen to make it really pop!
Everyone danced the night away and had a blast as the lights changed and disco sticks were brought out. The sliders and milkshake shots were a huge hit as the night went on! Of course, when it came time to leave, Jerrika and Taylor did it in style with a glowstick sendoff and driving away in a Mercedes Maybach Sedan.
